Traveling with Tshetem and Sacred Himalaya Travel in Bhutan was a spectacularly glorious experience.  His knowledge about Bhutan is vast--ranging encyclopedically from natural history, to art and history, culture and politics, and Buddhist literature and teachings.  He is wise and funny, attentive and caring. His entire team is extraordinary. I cannot imagine a better guide or a richer introduction to a land of mystery and beauty.  I would go with Sacred Himalaya Travel anywhere, anytime.

From the time we were warmly greeted at the Paro Airport by Tshetem Norbu, owner/guide of Sacred Himalaya Travel, until we sadly said our goodbyes many days later, we fell in love with this amazing country and its people.

I have just returned from a most memorable two week holiday in the idyllic country of Bhutan. Through my guide Tshetem Norbu and his assistants, Dorji and Namgay, I gained vast knowledge of the Bhutanese culture, history, traditions and the flora and fauna of this beautiful Himalayan kingdom. As I traveled through the countryside, I experienced the friendliness and the hospitality of the Bhutanese people as I interacted with them.

After two strenuous 3-wk. treks with other leaders in Nepal & Bhutan, I joined a trip guided by Tshetem Norbu with whom I’ve now made three trips to quite remote regions of Bhutan as well as those more often visited. Tshetem’s personal qualities including true integrity make him a gifted leader. But it is his own humanity, deep spirituality, and respect for traditional Bhutanese culture which offer clients so much enrichment of the travel experience. My recent trips, featuring trekking in temperate forests and riparian areas, have shown me also how multi-faceted this man is.

Since 2004, I have used Tshetem Norbu and Sacred Himalaya Travel to run five trips in Bhutan. Whether traveling by van to the Bumthang Valley, or hiking the Laya-Gasa or Snowman treks, each trip has been meticulously planned with a commitment to our enjoyment of Bhutan,and our comfort and safety.

I recently was on a trip to Bhutan with Tshetem Norbu as my guide. I was quite happy to find that Tshetem was so gracious to us three Americans. From the time we arrived in Paro until we left 2 wks later, we were well cared for and treated as friends instead of tourists.

Tshetem is sought after as one of the most favored and best guides in Bhutan and I would be very appreciative if he could be my guide the next time I am in this magical kingdom. I seriously recommend Tshetem and his company.
