Community Based Eco-tourism (Royal Manas National Park)

The local community manages this newly opened Eco-trail along the Gomphu –Shelangtoe – Panbang – Manas route. These villages consist of only 150 households in total. These ethnic groups are known as Khengpa from Zhamgang district. They have rich history, culture and tradition and remain in a close-knit community. These villages are blessed with rich flora and fauna.

Few endangered spices are that you might encounter here are the Royal Bengal Tiger, Rufous-necked Horn bill and the Golden Langur. Agriculture and livestock are the main source of income for these people. They fall under some of the poorest communities in the country and are highly dependent on the forest resources for their livelihood. Through this tour we contribute to the community by buying their arts and crafts and their services at the Eco-lodges we will use.
